Scholarships

The Allentown Village Society (AVS) produces the annual Allentown Art Festival, provides scholarships to local art students, and supports local cultural organizations. Scholarships are a major result of the work of AVS, with proceeds from the annual festival providing over $25,000 in aid annually to many local art students. These awards are given to encourage and support post secondary studies in art and a career in visual art or art education. AVS is proud of the talent and dedication found in local students and will continue to encourage and support them.

Each year, AVS offers a minimum of four scholarships, which are awarded to high school seniors who attend Buffalo/Erie County public, private or parochial schools and who have been accepted to post secondary schools in an arts study program. The awards are granted in an amount of at least $1,000 per year for the first two years of study and are exclusively for the purchase of art supplies and equipment at the store/bookstore of the student’s choice.

Refer to the Scholarship Application below for this year’s application deadline. Scholarship award winners will be notified individually. The scholarship award presentation will take place during the artists’ reception and awards ceremony at the Annual Allentown Art Festival in June.
